Programme Notes

This is the second of my violin duets commissioned by Natalia Wierzbicka, exploring the classical elements of Earth, Air, Fire and Water. These duets respond to the element of Air, and came about after I happened across the main motif of the first movement while improvising on the violin (procrastination from violin practice at its most productive!)

The piece is comprised of four movements:

I - Gale

II - Breeze

III - Mistral

IV - Gale (reprise)
