Programme Notes

This suite of three short pieces for strings was my attempt at shaking the cobwebs of two pieces from my pre-conservatoire days, and then combining them with a new piece that loosely adapted the old broadside ballad “Greensleeves”. I also took some inspiration from Gorecki’s Three Pieces in the Olden Style, but I consider these three pieces a demonstration of my core artistry: melodic, influenced by folk, and biased towards strings!
